The essence and beauty of surf photography is capturing that moment in time when all of the parts come together. The players in this game are the weather,  the swell, the light and the action. It all goes down in 1/1000th of a second so timing can not be understated in any way especially here on the East Coast. Half of the game is being there and the other half is completely in your hands. Miss the shot and you'll be kicking yourself all the way home. Nail it and you've just climbed another notch towards being a successfull photographer The results can be very rewarding and even addicting much the same way surfing itself is.

My name is Kenny Onufrock and I am a surf photojournalist based in Wrightsville Beach, NC. I grew up just a couple miles from the beach and I've surfed since childhood. Shooting water is where I prefer to be. I do spend a fair amount of time and effort shooting from land as well, trying to capture unique angles and amazing lighting. I hope to be bringing new views from liquid world to the pages of Eastern Surf Magazine, Surfing Magazine, dpsurfer.com, Transworld Surf, surfline.com and surfermag.com.

My work has been published in these fine surf magazines - Eastern Surf Magazine, Surfing Magazine, Transworld Surf, Water, Juice, Tide, Etc. and Line Up. I am also a frequent contributor to www.surfermag.com and www.surfline.com
